Time for a Climate Action Conductor?

As a companion piece to our main blog this week, read former UNFCCC chief Yvo de Boer’s thoughts in Climate Home News on a way forward out of the present sense of “incoherence” surrounding climate action.

Especially interesting form our point of view (given it’s a theme we have raised before) is his suggestion of some kind of overall co-ordination function, perhaps located in the UN, to better the chances of countries receiving “coherent international support” for their NDCs, while also overcoming critiques of the UN from certain directions by “demonstrating UN reform through effective delivery on one of humanity‚Äôs most pressing challenges”.
